Jean (Hepburn) Sterne, 73 of Dallastown passed away peacefully at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy on Friday, November 4th, 2022.
She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Edward B. Sterne, Sr. who passed away on March 4, 2017.
Born May 2, 1949 in Paterson, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Helen (Cook) Hepburn.
Jean was a beloved Grandmother who enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and dance performances. She loved spending time at the Jersey shore with her precious grandchildren and enjoyed walks on the beach and looking for shells with her girls. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed historical fiction. Jean was a lifelong volunteer, participating in PTA, Girl Scouts, and teaching CCD. She had a special love for animals and spent her free time fostering and volunteering for Animal Rescue. She also enjoyed simply being at home, caring for her cats, and tending to her gardens. She will be greatly missed.
Jean is survived by three children: Jennifer E. Sterne and her significant other, Robert Nemeth of Nashville, TN, Emily C. Sentman and her husband, DJ of Camp Hill, PA and Edward B. Sterne, Jr. of Windsor, PA; three grandchildren: Joseph M. Sentman, Lillian G. Sentman and Julianna R. Sentman; one sister, Ellen Hepburn, as well as many loving extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine H. Damiano.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 10th at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church; 251 E. Main St. in Dallastown with Rev. Mark Weiss officiating. Interment will follow in Red Lion Cemetery. A time to share memories and gather with the family will also be on Thursday morning at the Church from 10am until the start of the Mass.
