Jeffrey L. Mickey, 72, of Dallastown, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Joan E. (Markey) Mickey. The couple celebrated 49 years of marriage on July 3, 2024.

Mr. Mickey was born in Manchester on October 19, 1951 and was the son of the late C. Gail Mickey and Fairy R. (Dittenhafer) Mickey.

Jeffrey graduated from Northeastern High School in 1969. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Army National Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. The next four years, he proudly served on the funeral details for many service men, President Truman and President L.B. Johnson. Following his service to his country, he worked as a machine operator for York Borg-Warner. Then became a title researcher for ABCO, from where he retired. He was the former owner of The Wilderness Lodge in New Lancaster Valley, where he spent time at his cabin. He was a member of the Dallastown American Legion. Jeffrey enjoyed antique cars and owned a 1940s era Willyz Jeep that he displayed in his front yard every Memorial Day.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Lynz A. Leader and her husband Jeff and Andrew L. Mickey; and his grandchildren, Calvin Leader and Alys Leader. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan miller and her husband Nate, and Cindy Simmons; uncle, Lloyd Dittenhafer, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A private graveside service will be held by the family.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Dallastown American Legion on October 19, 2024.
