JoAnn M. (Heilman) Anderson, 82, of Dallastown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Richard F. Anderson, Jr., with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage on June 11.

Born in Dallastown on November 19, 1942, JoAnn was the daughter of the late Harold G. Heilman and Gail J. (Snelbaker) Heilman.

JoAnn is survived by her three sons: Richard F. Anderson III and his wife Sheila, Dana L. Anderson, and David A. Anderson and his wife Wendy. She was a devoted grandmother to five grandchildren and cherished her role as great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Michael G. Heilman and James C. Heilman, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Spangler, and her brothers, Wilson Heilman and Robert Heilman.

Joann was an active member of the Society of Farm Women of Pennsylvania, York County Chapter and wrote many recipes that were entered into their annual published cookbook.

She retired from Boscov's department store after working 25 years. Joann was very creative and enjoyed painting.  She would paint nature portraits and liked to create holiday items to share with the family.  She cherished her time playing cards with her sister, family and friends for many years.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 6, from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM at Bethlehem Church, 109 E. Main Street, Dallastown. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor David Stough officiating. Burial will take place at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
