John W. King, 93 of Felton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, March 31. He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Evelyn (Floyd) King.

Mr. King was born in Norfolk, VA on February 17, 1925 and was the son of the late Frank J. and Annie (Henrics) King.

John was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving in the United States Navy aboard the Susan B. Anthony. He continued his service to his community as a police officer with the Norfolk Virginia Police Department, retiring after 38 years of service.

In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by his daughter, Robin L. Kingsley; stepchildren, David Stermer, Wendy Deardorff, Kathleen Tingue, Teresa Brown and Laurel Beyer. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank King, Jr., and sister, Bertha Purcell.

A service to honor John's life will be held at Noon on Thursday, April 5 at The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Daniel Moore officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday and will begin at 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment to follow in Yorkana Cemetery.
