Julia M. (Spyker) Kinard, 93, of York Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Seaton Springwood. She was the beloved wife of the late Ned R. Kinard. The couple was married for 70 years until his passing in 2019.

Mrs. Kinard was born in York on October 2, 1930 and was the daughter of the late John W. and Edna R. (Butcher) Spyker.

She is survived by her five children, Brenda L. Herr (and Wayne), Roxanne M. Baer (and Dennis), Monte R. Kinard (and Faye), Blandi E. Kinard and Tracy D. Clutter (and Paul); six grandchildren, Megan R. Rodgers, Ashley S. Herr-Perrin, Kari Kinard, Courtney Heesacker, Kendra Stauffer, and Kyle Kinard. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Loretta Spyker and Jacqueline List; brother, J. William Spyker; grandson, Adam B. Sullivan and great granddaughter, Jazmine R. Cope.

For much of her life Julia was a dedicated wife and mother. She was an outstanding cook and baker. She also had a very artistic side and enjoyed doing arts and crafts, as well as writing poems and stories. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with family and any visitors.

Julia donated her body to the Humanity Gifts Registry, in hopes that her donation to science will help others in the future.  Per her wishes, there will be no public services.
