June M. (Henise) Daugherty, 83, of Yorkana, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, July 21, 2024, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Donald E. Daugherty. The couple shared over 64 years of marriage together.

Mrs. Daugherty was born in Lower Windsor Township on June 16, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Allen J. and Martha D. (Brenneman) Henise.

For most of her life June was a devoted and caring homemaker. She had a gift for nurturing children and was a very popular local baby sitter, who throughout the years baby sat countless children in the Yorkana area. June was a lifetime member of Christ Church of Yorkana, where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. She loved working in her flower garden and was known to be a great baker and cook. Not only would she cook delicious meals for her own family and friends, but she would also take meals to those who were sick or in need.  June especially loved to travel, and would be ready to go at the drop of a hat. Her kindness and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children, Donna Beck and her husband Tom, Steven Daugherty and his wife Lisa, Michael Daugherty and his wife Wendi, Beth Johnson and her husband Glen, and Brian Daugherty and his wife Denise; 13 grandchildren, Zachary, Adam, Allen, Jenna, Trevor, Dillon, Ashley, Nathaniel, Matthew, Olivia, Christian, Shane and Kirsten. She is also survived by five great grandchildren; and two siblings, Marvin Henise, and Janet Barshinger. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and James Henise.

A viewing will take place on Monday, July 29th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Christ Church of Yorkana, 5 Main St., Yorkana, PA 17406 and then again at the church on Tuesday, July 30th from 9:00-10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at the church on Tuesday and will begin at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Jason Guillaume officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
