Obituary

Kathryn Romaine (Stoner) Stine, 93, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at York South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Stine, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage until his passing in 2009.

Born on April 19, 1933, in York, Kathryn was the daughter of the late Richard and Eva (Hengst) Stoner.

Kathryn worked for many years as a seamstress in the sewing industry. She later worked in the cafeteria at Dallastown Middle School, where she remained until her retirement.

Kathryn and her husband enjoyed traveling together and had the opportunity to visit much of the United States. She had a great love for bluegrass music and especially enjoyed attending bluegrass concerts. Kathryn also enjoyed bowling and was a member of a bowling league.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Kimberly McCleary and her husband, James; her son, Robert Stine; five grandchildren, Shannon Fidler and her husband, Scott, Brandon McCleary, Corey Stine, Caylin Rodrick, and Jacob Stine; and two great-grandchildren, Bentley McCleary and Henry Rodrick. She is also survived by her siblings, Beaty, Shelva, Joyce, Carolann, Debbie, Darlene, Donnie, and Dick, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, John, and her son, Jeffrey Stine, Kathryn was preceded in death by her siblings, Bobby, Ruth, Shirley, and Lanny.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A funeral service will follow the viewing and will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathryn’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
