Mr. Kenneth Leroy "Bud" Hartman passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at York Hospital.

The son of Lawrence and Blanche Hartman, he was born June 21, 1934, at the family home just outside of Loganville. He was married for 65 years to Barbara Taylor Hartman, and they resided for most of those years near that childhood home. Barbara passed away in December of 2020.

After serving on the family farm, helping with his grandparent's baking business and working at Beacon Milling Company, he began a long career in sales. He worked for Coyne Industrial Laundry before following his father in 1975 to Central Petroleum Company. He was CenPeCo's top salesman in 1992 and continued representing the company into his eighties.

In his younger days, "Bud" excelled at baseball and was the leading hitter in the Susquehanna League in 1961 with a .478 batting average. Along with his older brother Jim, he was a 2005 inductee into the Susquehanna League Hall of Fame.

A lifelong Boston Red Sox and Ted Williams fan, he enjoyed all kinds of sports and attended Penn State home football games for many years.

Surviving him are three children and their spouses, Randall and Susan Hartman of New Oxford; Dean and Nancy Hartman of LaGrange, Georgia; and Sueanne and Kenneth Dulski of Ambler; grandchildren Michelle and Joe Eberly of York, Kevin and Ashley Hartman of Dover, Amy and Christopher Harder of Newnan, Georgia; and Courtney Hartman of York; step-grandchildren Kristen and Brian Repasky of York and Kenny and Sara Main of New Oxford; several great-grandchildren; and siblings Donald Hartman of Seven Valleys, Joanne Henry of Lititz, June Bailey of York, Eugene Hartman of Red Lion and Mary Lou Arnold of York.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Kay Hartman.

"Bud" was a member of Codorus Church of the Brethren where he coached church softball for many years.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, at 11 a.m. at Codorus Church, 1129 Dunkard Valley Rd., Dallastown, PA 17313. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. until the service begins. He will be laid to rest in the Codorus Cemetery.
