Kyle A.
Sterner
Sep 23, 1980 — Dec 13, 2024
Kyle Andrew Sterner, 44, of Red Lion, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024, at WellSpan York Hospital, following a cardiac arrest he suffered at home on December 11.
Born on September 23, 1980, in York, Pennsylvania, Kyle was the beloved son of Diane Lynn (Amspacher) Sterner and Randy Gene Sterner, both of Red Lion.
Kyle was a kind-hearted soul with a love for animals, especially cats, which brought him immense joy throughout his life. A proud graduate of Red Lion High School, Class of 1999, he found his calling in auto body repair and paint for over 20 years.
A movie trivia aficionado, Kyle had an encyclopedic knowledge of films and was particularly fond of the Friday the 13th series. During a recent vacation, he was thrilled to visit Camp Crystal Lake, the real-life Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in New Jersey. In a poignant twist of fate, he departed this world on Friday the 13th, a date forever tied to his favorite movie.
Kyle's warm personality and quick wit endeared him to all who knew him. He loved making people laugh. He quoted movies and songs in nearly every conversation. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving sister, Alisa K. Grove, and her husband, John, of Windsor, as well as many cherished extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Milton and Phyllis Amspacher, and his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Williamena Sterner.
Honoring his generous wish to be an organ donor, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation.
There will be no public viewing. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Kyle's life will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA. Family and friends are invited to share memories during a visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kyle's honor to the York County SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406, reflecting his enduring love for animals.
Kyle's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
