Laura Yvonne (Horning) "Vonnie" Stine, 93 of York passed away peacefully at York Hospital on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Millard Israel Stine who passed away on August 3, 2014.
Born July 2, 1929 in Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Grace E. (Grove) Horning.
Mrs. Stine is fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished spending time with her family, sharing great meals and enjoying different restaurants. An antique enthusiast and dealer, she worked for many years at Grey Beard Antiques in Jacobus. She especially loved dolls, jewelry and furniture. As a resident of Country Meadows, she also loved enjoying fellowship and playing games with her friends.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Pamela Yvonne Karpinski (wife of the late Edward) of York; her sister, G. Marlene Hose of York; three grandchildren: Joseph W. Miller of Ft. Myers, FL, Andrew James Miller and his wife, Kate of York, PA and Jennifer Nicole Stitzer and her husband, Evan of Seven Valleys, PA, nine great-grandchildren as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Millard Stine.
A funeral service to celebrate Laura's life will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, November 15 th at Salem Lutheran Church; 99 York Rd.; Jacobus, PA 17407 with Pastor Tina Minnich officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Tuesday at the church from 1pm until the start of the service.
