Lester Leroy
Klingel, Jr.
Sep 20, 1930 — Dec 7, 2025
Lester Leroy Klingel Jr., 95, of Dallastown, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the York North Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on September 20, 1930, in New Oxford, PA, to the late Lester Leroy Klingel Sr. and Pauline E. (Fair) Klingel.
Lester was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He and his wife, Mary Jane (Zimmer) Klingel, just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on November 26, 2025.
He was a lifelong enthusiast of motorcycles, and a proud lifetime member of the American Motorcyclist Association. Lester was also a member of the York Motorcycle Club and spent many weekends with his wife, Mary Jane, and the club on poker runs and traveling the countryside.
Lester worked for many years as a truck driver, retiring from Nelson Express, and was a dedicated Teamster throughout his career. He was also a part-time parts delivery person during his retirement years at NAPA Auto Parts in West York; a job that he enjoyed greatly.
In addition to his wife, Mary Jane, Lester is survived by his children: Brenda K. Hughes, Barry L. Klingel and his wife Donna, and Stephen C. Klingel and his wife Judy. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Mary Vogt and her husband Zach; his sister, Linda Gardner and her husband Thomas; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In accordance with Lester's wishes, services will be held by his family privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the York County SPCA.
