Linda J.
Trone
Dec 28, 1952 — Jul 1, 2025
Dallastown
Linda Jane (Lentz) Trone, 72, of York, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at Yorkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of Glen G. Trone, with whom she shared many cherished years of love and companionship. They celebrated 51 years of marriage in February.
Born in York on December 28, 1952, Linda was the daughter of the late Ivan L. and Almeda (Keener) Lentz.
A 1972 graduate of Dallastown High School, she devoted much of her life to caring for others, working as a cook at Senior Commons where she was known for her kindness and commitment. She retired from there after many years of faithful service.
Linda was a member of St. John's Blymire's United Church of Christ, where her willingness to help others reflected her generous spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many.
Linda had a deep love for animals—especially her cats and beagles—and enjoyed playing bingo, serving those around her, and most of all, spending time with her grandsons, whom she adored.
She is survived by her loving son, Joseph Trone, and his wife, Raelynn; grandsons, Devin Chaney and Tanner Curry; her brothers, Dennis Lentz and his wife Wanda, and Clyde Lentz and his wife Shirley; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friend and roommate at Yorkview, Judy Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dale and Charles Lentz, as well as the mother who raised her, Romaine E. (Lentz) Lentz.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., Dallastown, with a funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM, officiated by the Rev. Brenda Marin Enders. Casual attire is requested by the family. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda's name to the American Diabetes Association.
