Loy C. Craley, 85 of Red Lion passed away peacefully at Yorkview Nursing & Rehab on Thursday, June 18, 2026.  He was the beloved husband of Brenda J. (Smeltzer) Craley with whom he celebrated 13 years of marriage.

Born July 11, 1940 in Felton, he was a son of the late Chester L. and Gladys (Elfner) Craley.

Mr. Craley is fondly remembered as pop, who was a loving and generous person who enjoyed visiting family and friends, roaming the country side looking for Deer, and woodworking.

Mr. Craley retired from Campbell Chain after 35 years of service. He also worked part-time at Wolff's Refuse and Hellam Hosiery.  He was also a member of the Red Lion Bible Church, the Hawks Club of York, and once served as the treasurer of the New Bridgeville Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, Loy is survived by his sisters Nancy Heffner (late John Heffner) of Red Lion, Darlene Kann (Lynn) of Manchester, daughters, Penny Wambaugh (late husband Ray Wambaugh, Jr.) of Windsor, Angie Gellinger (late Rick Gellinger) of Red Lion, Sharon Craley (late Kevin Craley) of York, and his stepdaughters, Amanda Amspacher (Mark) of Red Lion, Holly Mellinger of Manchester, and stepsons Vernon Dettinger, Jr. of Dallastown, Joe Dettinger (Kim) of York, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty one great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Kevin Craley, second wife Dorothy Frey Craley, and stepson, Duane Dettinger.

A celebration of Loy's life will be held later this year in private by his family.
