Marlin E. Barshinger, 83 of Red Lion passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 10, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Donna M. (Null) Barshinger, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born October 11, 1938 in Jacobus, he was a son of the late Emory E. and Lorie H. (Keener) Barshinger.
Marlin retired from Gettle Electric after over 50 years, and was a talented farmer and a member of the Young Farmers of Red Lion. He was also a faithful member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where he was a past council member. He also loved tractors, and was a member of Steam-o-Rama, as well as the Jeep Club. Marlin was also very skilled at finding a bargain and he loved auctions.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Barshinger is survived by his daughter, Janet A. Barshinger of Red Lion; 3 grandsons: Travis, Trent and Treven; 1 granddaughter, Tara; 1 great-grandson, Wrangler; 1 great-granddaughter, Laken; 4 sisters: Barbara, Vicki, Nancy and Sylvia and 2 brothers: Dale and Keith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven J. Barshinger; great-grandson, Crimson Barshinger and his brother, Gary Barshinger.
A funeral service to celebrate Marlin's life will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 17 th at Emanuel Lutheran Church; 2650 Freysville Rd. in Red Lion with Pastor Paul Frank officiating. Interment will follow in Freysville Cemetery in Red Lion. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Thursday at the church from 10am until the start of the service.
