MaryLu Hale transitioned peacefully, with her daughter and dear friend by her side, on Monday, September 6, 2021.  "Never Never, Mom...We Love You!"

MaryLu was born in Akron, Ohio on May 5, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Christine Mary (Sboray) Smith (1990) and the late Raymond Franklin Smith (1995).

MaryLu attended Smith School in Akron, Ohio for Kindergarten, and then attended her mother's Alma Mater of Immaculate Conception School in Akron, Ohio from first until sixth grade, until the family moved to York, PA shortly after Thanksgiving Day in 1967. She finished sixth grade at York Township Elementary School, and continued her education in Dallastown Area Schools, graduating from Dallastown Area High School in 1974.

MaryLu worked for her father after high school managing an Arco station, then became a manager for Exxon stations in York and Dallastown before moving to Clifton Park, NY and giving birth to her daughter Teresa in 1981. Upon moving back to York, she worked for Quality Copy Products for many years as a repair specialist, before becoming a proud graduate of The Baltimore School of Massage in 1998, then moving to a career in Massage Therapy.  MaryLu was a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Nutritional Counselor (Trinity College of Natural Health 2008), and Holistic Practitioner.  She was the owner of Center for Touch Therapy and C Yourself Healthy.  She also did Massage Therapy for clients at Iridescence Salon and Spa.  MaryLu adored helping others, in fact, it was her main goal in life.  It made her heart happy.  She was, is, and will always be, loved by many.  Her impact reaches further than we could ever imagine.  She was an advocate, a teacher, her knowledge invaluable, sought out, and deeply appreciated.  Let her be an example...to always ask questions, and never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in.  MaryLu loved animals, had kitties of her own, and fostered through the years.  She also loved the outdoors, and felt most at home on the Youghiogheny River in beautiful Ohiopyle State Park, PA, where she was an avid white water rafter and kayaker.  She loved to be out in nature, tending to her vegetable and butterfly gardens, enjoying the sun, or watching a thunderstorm.  We miss her...deeply.

MaryLu is survived by her daughter Teresa Lee Hale and granddaughter Joy Taylor-Christine Hale of York, her brother Raymond Smith Jr. and his wife Linda of Stewartstown, her cousin Lori Marochino of Akron, Ohio, her aunt Kay Brulo of Palm Harbor, Florida, as well as many other beloved relatives and friends.

A celebration to honor MaryLu's life will be held at the convenience of the family.
