Mary Jane Klingel, 93, of Dallastown, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. She was born on October 29, 1932, in York, PA, to the late Charles S. Zimmer and Mildred E. (Geesey) Zimmer.

Mary was the loving and devoted wife of Lester Leroy Klingel Jr., with whom she shared 75 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in December 2025.

Mary devoted much of her life to being a homemaker and caring for those she loved. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, and she especially enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for those gathered around her table. Mary’s faith was also important to her, and she was a longtime member of Spry Church.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Brenda K. Hughes; her sons, Barry L. Klingel and his wife, Donna, and Stephen C. Klingel and his wife, Judy; and her granddaughter, Mary M. Vogt and her husband, Zach.

She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Zimmer, Wayne Zimmer, and Shirley Kline; her sister-in-law, Linda Gardner and her husband, Thomas; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Michael Zimmer, Guy Zimmer, Charlotte Sargen, and Arlene Keech.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Spry Church, 50 School St. York, PA 17402. A visitation with the family will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Burial will take place in Emmanuel Evangelical Church Cemetery in Loganville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
