Mary A.
Sechrist
May 8, 1927 — Apr 6, 2026
Spring Garden Twp.
Mary A. Sechrist, 98, of Spring Garden, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 6, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late George S. Sechrist, Jr., with whom she shared 49 years of marriage until his passing in 2000.
Born on May 8, 1927, in East Salem, Pennsylvania, Mary was the daughter of the late Burr McVitty O'Donnell, Sr. and Margaret Amanda (Landis) O'Donnell.
Mary lived a life centered on family, care for others, and quiet dedication. After graduating from Lebanon Valley College in 1949, she began her career as a teacher in the Dallastown School District before devoting herself fully to her home and family. She later worked alongside her husband in their family business, Sechrist Brothers Meats, Inc. In her free time, she found joy in reading, in music, especially the piano, and took great comfort in the simple moments spent with those she loved.
Above all, Mary will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose steady presence and kindness shaped generations of her family.
She is survived by her children: Stephanie Ann Stough and her husband, Warren; George S. Sechrist, III; Lori Ann Klucker; and Jacob William Sechrist, II and his wife, Lynne. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Jacob W. Sechrist, III; Adam Sechrist; Jared Sechrist; Catherine Sechrist; Alexandra Stroman; Alaina Leber; Matthew Leber; Douglas Klucker and Michael Klucker; along with nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisbeth Alane Leber.
A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, April 16th from 11:00 -11:30 AM at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St. Dallastown, with a funeral service beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial to follow in Mount Rose Cemetery.
