Matthew D. Baroch, 90, of York PA., passed peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at York Hospital. He was the loving companion of Phyllis Beaverson of Red Lion PA.; they shared 22 years together.
Born January 4, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Baroch and the late Anna Marousek.
Mr. Baroch served his country in the Navy during the Korean War and retired from Baltimore, Gas and Electric after 36 years in the Metering and Line Divisions. He attended the Lutheran Church of Spry and was a life member of the American Legion having been a member of Post 39, Bel Air, MD and Post 0605, Dallastown PA. He had a great sense of humor and was quick with a joke. With his companion Phyllis, he went on several cruises and enjoyed seafood, especially Maryland blue crabs, along with an occasional Natural Light.
He is survived by his sons, Matthew D. Baroch Jr., wife Jeanne Rosario of Lexington, SC, Leonard J. Baroch, wife Aurora Baroch of Fallston, MD and Kenneth C. Baroch, wife Debbie Baroch of Joppa, MD; two surviving sisters Elizabeth May and Lorraine Leary, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Baroch and sister Anita Busch.
A service to celebrate the life of Matthew D. Baroch will be held at a later date.
