Michael Clark McWilliams, 78, of York, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026. Born in Jacobus, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Clark and Virginia (Ferree) McWilliams.
Mike was a 1965 graduate of Dallastown Area High School and a 1969 graduate of Albright College. He dedicated 30 years of his life to teaching sixth grade at Dallastown Area Middle School.
Outside of the classroom, Mike loved to read, fish, hunt, and golf. He was a longtime member of Dry Run Rod and Gun Club, where the Cabin became his second home and its members his extended family. Mike also volunteered for many years with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, helping to stock local streams with trout. In Mike’s own words, he “loved putting them in and loved taking them out.” He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 605.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Chad Michael McWilliams, Ryan Patrick McWilliams (Melanie), and Daren Robert McWilliams (Miranda); his grandchildren, Colin, Ruthie, Ethan, Levi, Kylee, and Ella; his sisters, Debra Schaefer (Ted), Joni McKenzie (Scott), and Kristine Clark (Rich); and his nieces and nephews, Eric Schaefer, Brian McKenzie, Jason McKenzie, Sarah Clark, Ginny Kathryn Vengoechea, and Rachel Miller. He was predeceased by his nephew Ted Schaefer, III.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc. 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, on Friday, August 21st beginning at 5:00 PM with his brother-in-law, Pastor Scott McKenzie officiating. A visitation with the family will begin at 4:00 PM until the start of the service. Interment will be private.
