Mildred V. (Innerst) Hawkins, 96, of York, passed away at her residence on Saturday, January 22 ^nd . She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond C. Hawkins.

Mrs. Hawkins was born in Springfield Twp., on October 9, 1925 to the late Melvin L. and Lottie O. (Wolf) Innerst.

Mildred was a 1943 graduate of William Penn Senior High.  She worked as a payroll clerk at the Teledyne McKay Company and the American Chain and Cable Company. She also worked as an accounts receivable clerk for Andrew's Paper House. In July of 1992, Mildred retired from Teledyne McKay Company after 25 years of service. Mildred was a life member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacobus, where she previously served as the secretary of the adult bible Sunday school class for many years. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and crocheting.

She is survived by her son, Gary L. Hawkins and his late wife Jean; grandson, Ryan R. Hawkins and his wife Connie L.; step-grandchildren, Angela M. Wallace, C. Lee Morris and his late wife Iris A. and David L. Morris and his wife Heather J. She is also survived by six great grandchildren; one

great-great grandson; sister, Maryann Lentz; and her niece, Diane Innerst and her husband Joe.

A funeral service to honor Mildred's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 31 at Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York Rd. Jacobus, PA 17407, with Pastor Tina Minnich officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the church on Monday and will begin at noon until the start of the funeral service. Interment will follow in Salem Union Cemetery.
