Obituary

Milton E. "Milt/Uncle Miltie" Reigart, 78, of Dallastown, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at UPMC Memorial Hospital, York.  He was the loving husband of Ruthann A. (Shirey) Reigart, Dallastown; together they celebrated 33 years of marriage on December 26, 2023.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by many extended family members and friends.

Born August 1, 1945 in Loganville, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Beatrice V. (Lehman) Reigart.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Reigart.

Milt was a member of New Fairview Church, York. He graduated from Dallastown High School and served in the U.S. Army.  In his youth, he played Little League baseball and was a proud member of the 1958 Loganville, York County Championship team.  He continued playing baseball and enjoyed league bowling, playing darts and shooting pool.  Milton retired in 1998 from Caterpillar, York and served as the Vice Chairman of the UAW Local 786 retirees.  He was a life member of the Dallastown American Legion and various other local organizations. Milt enjoyed camping, fishing and crabbing on the Delaware Eastern Shore and was a member of the Lucky Star hunting camp in Centre County.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11 AM at New Fairview Church, 1873 New Fairview Church Road, York.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 West Main St., Dallastown and again on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10 AM until the start of the service at the church.  Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus.

A special thank you to the 4th floor cardiac staff at UPMC Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion for Milt.
