Myrtle L. (Kline) Coble, 98 of York Haven, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, August 5. She was the wife of Charles V. Coble. The couple would have celebrated their 76 ^th wedding anniversary on August 29 ^th .

Mrs. Coble was born in Newberry Township on September 28, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Claude A. and Florence B. (Rife) Kline.

Myrtle was a 1937 graduate of Manchester High School and a 1938 graduate of Thompson Business School. Her first job was working for the National Recovery Act under the U.S. Dept. of Treasury during the Roosevelt administration. Following that, she worked as a personnel clerk for Southern Craft in York, which later became the International Paper Company. She was later transferred to the York Haven facility and remained until the plant's closing in 1972. She eventually retired in 1984 from the Commonwealth of PA Dept. of Public Welfare, where she was a case worker.

Myrtle was active in the York Haven EUB and served as the financial secretary until the church dissolved. She had been a member of Bethlehem United Methodist in Dallastown since 2003. From 1952 until a few years ago, Myrtle's passion had been her flower gardens. She was known in the area for her numerous vibrant flower beds and many times had brides ask if their wedding parties could be photographed in her flower gardens. Myrtle will be remembered as a very compassionate woman, who put others before herself. She will deeply be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Victor K. Coble and his wife Shelby; three grandchildren, Carolyn Clements and her husband Brad, Robert Eckenrode and his wife Mandy, and Scott Eckenrode and his wife Amy. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Sydney, Connor, Alex, Hailey, Carter and Cole; as well as her sister, Faye E. Kline She was preceded in death by three siblings, Mabel G. Miller, Horace J. Kline and Emma I. Kline.

A funeral service to honor Myrtle's life will be held at Noon on Friday, August 10 at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 E. Main St., Dallastown with the Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. A viewing will take place at the church on Friday and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service.  Interment will be held in Manchester Union Cemetery.
