Nedra Ann (Hoffman) Kern, age 84, of Dallastown passed away at her home with her family by her side on May 26, 2022. Nedra was born in Dallastown, PA on May 5, 1938.  She was the daughter of the late Erma (Hoffman) Heffner. She graduated from Dallastown High School in 1956.

Nedra was formerly employed by the Dallastown Area School District. She worked as a library aide at Leader Heights Elementary School for 30 years. She was known for her kindness and was loved by the children and her co-workers.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown for 65 years where she volunteered and served on church council. In her personal time, Nedra enjoyed cooking, baking, and collecting cookbooks and recipes. In the last year of her life, she gathered her favorite recipes and published her own cookbook! Additionally, Nedra enjoyed reading, playing cards and coloring beautiful pictures.

Nedra leaves behind her devoted husband, David R. Kern of Dallastown, PA. They were happily married for 63 years. Nedra is survived by her daughter Denise (Kern) Fitz and her husband Brian Fitz of York, PA, her son, Dr. Eric Kern and his wife Betsy (Miller) Kern of Chocowinity, NC. She was the beloved grandmother of Jared Fitz, Emma Fitz, Ryan Kern, Alexandra (Kern) Garcia and Nathan Kern.

A public memorial service to celebrate Nedra's life will be held on Monday, June 20 th at 11:00 AM at St. John's Blymire's UCC Church at the Red Brick Chapel, 1009 Blymire Rd, Dallastown, PA. The family will gather at Blymire's Cemetery at 10:00 AM for a family graveside service prior to the public memorial service.
