Late in the evening of November 7, 2017, Nevin "Bob" Robert Fitz, Jr., passed away at Manor Care –South. He was the loving husband of Cheryl (Neiman) Fitz for 21 years.

Known as Nevin or Bob, he was born in York Twp. on August 31, 1944 and was the son of the late A. Virginia (Keller) and Nevin R. Fitz, Sr.

After serving three years in the US Army, Bob traveled the United States learning and honing his skills in construction. He settled in Springfield, MO, working for Killian Construction for approximately 20 years. Upon his return to York he worked for Robert Kinsley Construction for approximately 20 years until he retired.  In retirement Bob and Cheryl enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, seeing the architectural woodwork and learning the history of places they've been to see. He was a 32 nd degree Mason and a member of Eastern Star. Bob loved 50's and 60's music, old cars and a joke or story to make you laugh. He was a man with the kindest and most loving heart!

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Betsy Wagman and her husband Chris, Amanda Savage and Kimberly Walmer and her companion Evan Thomas, as well as extended family and friends in York and Missouri. He is also survived by his only sister, Linda Schaefer and his loving dog Bo.  He was preceded in death by his brother in law, Harry Schaefer.

A funeral service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 14 at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Rd., York, PA 17403, with Pastor Paul Bentzel officiating.  A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday and will begin at 9:30 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in New Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob's name can be made to New Fairview Church of the Brethren.

The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., Dallastown is in charge of arrangements.
