On Wednesday, October 18, Nikki Jean (Wood) Grim, 54 of Hallam, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief battle with cancer while surrounded by her family at home. She was the beloved wife to Terry E. Grim for 32 years.
Mrs. Grim was born in Camp Hill, PA on March 14, 1963 and was the daughter of Gerald and Martha (Yinger) Wood.
Nikki was a 1981 graduate of Dallastown High School. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from York College in 1985 and her Master's in Elementary Education from Penn State University. For the past 4 ½ years Nikki taught at Little People Day Care in Columbia and prior to that was a teacher for the Eastern York School District, teaching 3 rd grade at the Canadochly Elementary School. She was an active member of New Fairview Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School. Nikki enjoyed playing board and card games with her family members. She was a fan of Penn State Football and the Baltimore Orioles. She was always on the sideline watching her children's sporting events and enjoying her children's accomplishments. She looked forward to taking trips to the mountains and visiting her grandchildren in Virginia.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her daughter, Olivia Maynard and her husband Brett of Charlottesville, VA; her son, Luke Grim and his wife Meghan of Harrisburg; and her two granddaughters, Brynn and Reese Maynard. She is also survived by her sister, Terry Markey and her husband Jeff of York; as well as a large extended family.
A funeral service to celebrate Nikki's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 22 at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Rd., York, PA 17403, with Pastors Wayne Hartman and Doug Striebig officiating. A viewing will be held at the church on Sunday and will begin at 1:00 PM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in New Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nikki's name can be made to New Fairview Church of the Brethren.
