Oscar J. Resline, 88, of Chanceford Township, passed away on Sunday, March 6 th at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Darlene R. (Krout) Resline. The couple were married for 48 years until her passing in November, 2021.

Mr. Resline was born in Pottsville, Schuylkill County on November 9, 1933 and was the son of the late Oscar C. and Gertrude E. (Brinich) Resline.

Oscar was a 1952 graduate of the John Harris High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge, Oscar worked as a mechanic for the airlines in Washington D.C. He later went to work for McCroy's Department Stores as a maintenance mechanic, retiring after many years of service. After retirement Oscar worked part time at Jerry's Great Valu until age 85. For most of his life Oscar farmed part time, a love he developed when he was a kid.  He enjoyed watching college football, especially Penn State and was a member of the American Legion Post 543 in Red Lion. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his three children, Steven M. Riddle and his wife Carol, of Goodyear, AZ, Peg Riddle Dohm and her husband Marc Reilly, of Colorado Springs, CO, and, John C. Resline and his wife Alison, of Felton; five grandchildren, Steven Riddle, II, Erin Riddle, Kaitlyn Resline, Kiersten Resline, and Carlee Resline. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Resline.

A viewing will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 13 th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown and again at the funeral home on Monday, March 14 th from 10:00 - 10:30 AM. From 10:30 – 11:00AM an opportunity of remembrance for Oscar will be held.  Following the time of remembrance, the funeral procession will leave for an 11:30 AM graveside service at Shenberger Chapel Cemetery, with Pastor Todd Smith officiating. Family and friends may also meet at the cemetery for the graveside service by 11:30 AM.

Immediately following the graveside service, a luncheon will be provided at the New Bridgeville Fire Company from Noon to 3:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SonLight Chapel, 53 Main St., Felton, PA 17322.
