Obituary

A beautiful and loving soul left this earth on February 28th, 2022. Patricia Taylor Ness, wife of Paul R. Ness, passed from this life onto the next after a brief illness.

Patricia was born on April 25th, 1929, to the late Dwight and Elsie Morgan Taylor. She was their adored only child, grew up during the uncertainty of the Great Depression, WWII and graduated from York High School. Paul rode into her life on a motorcycle, and they started their life together. While raising their three children, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years and led many young girls to enjoy camping. Patricia loved gardening, flowers and worked as a floral designer at Smith's Flower Shop and later kept a Central Market stand selling flower arrangements.

All through her life, Pat enjoyed camping with Paul as they traveled the U.S. and Canada. She loved being in nature, especially hiking in the mountains. She was a diligent keeper of photos, ephemera and produced mountains of albums.

She was the loving heart of her family and never missed sending a card for everyone's birthday. Her specialty for family get-togethers was dessert. Ever full of energy, she was always impeccably dressed in pink or purple outfits coordinated with her colorful costume jewelry!

Her family was most precious to her and she is survived by her husband of 73 years, Paul; her children Richard Ness, Sheilah Ream [Luke], Dirk Ness [Virginia], all living close by. 8 grandchildren: Michelle Pursell [Brian], Mark Ness [Kyrstyn], Kristoffer Ness, Luke N Ream [Sherryl], Levi Ream [Evva], Max Ream [Jennifer], Dirk A. Ness [Caitlyn], Emily Silverman [Robbie], and 15 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Samuel M. Ream.

A celebration of her life will be held privately for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: York County SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406, as Pat was a lifelong animal lover.
