Patsy C. (Swank) Markey, 79 of York passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 16, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of Ray E. Markey, Sr.

Born September 6, 1942 in York, she was the daughter of the late Clair L. and Edna J. (Brosius) Swank.

Patsy was a dedicated member of Codorus Church of the Brethren where she and her husband served as Deacons.  She was also Treasurer for her graduating class of the York Hospital School of Nursing.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, spending time with family and caring for others.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Markey is survived by 4 children: Ray E. Markey, Jr. and his wife, Karen of York, Brian C. Markey and his wife, Angie of York, Sue A. Forry and her husband, Chad of York and Jacob L. Markey and his wife, Angela of Seven Valleys, as well as  12 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many loving extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ray E. Brenneman.

A funeral service to celebrate Patsy's life will be held at 11:30am on Friday, January 21 ^st at Codorus Church of the Brethren; 1129 Dunkard Valley Rd. in Dallastown with Pastor Bob Krouse and Pastor Rick Fischel officiating.  A time to share memories and visit with the family will also be on Friday at the Church from 10am until the start of the service.  A graveside committal at New Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery in York will be held privately by the family.
