Obituary

Paul L. Elliott, Sr., 86 of Dallastown passed away on July 10, 2018 at Rest Haven-York. He was the beloved husband of the late Luana M. (Huzzard) Elliott.

Born January 13, 1932 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Telford and Esther M. (Shaffer) Elliott.

After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy, Paul was the owner of Mel-Ell Construction, Elliott's Nurseries and Dallastown Wrecking. He was a member for 52 years of Dallastown American Legion Post # 605, as well as the Red Lion VFW.  Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting and country music, especially Johnny Cash and playing the banjo.  He and his wife also enjoyed many camping trips over 40 years to Steam Boat Landing.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Diana M. Jacobs; son-in-law, Phil Jacobs; 4 grandchildren: April Overmiller, Angela Waseilewski and her significant other, Gordon, Amy Stoner and her husband, Jason and Lindsey Hurley and her husband, Billy; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 niece, Christina Leonard, as well as many extended family.

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by his son, Paul Elliott, Jr. and 2 brothers: Albert Reed Elliott and Boyd Lee Elliott.

A service to celebrate Paul's life will be held on Friday, Jul 13 th at 11am at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 12 th from 6-8pm, and again on Friday morning from 10am until the time of the service.
