Paul E. Ewell, 90, of Red Lion, passed away peacefully at SpiriTrust Lutheran- the Village at Sprenkle Drive on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Lee (Druck) Ewell. The couple were married for more than 63 years until her passing in 2014.
Mr. Ewell was born in Newark, DE on May 11, 1933 and was the son of the late Irvin and Sarah (Ewing) Ewell.
For most of his life Paul worked as a woodworker and also did some metal work. He previously worked for Autocraft Box Factory, Red Lion Table Company, MasterCraft and Columbia Products. He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Stonepile Church in Springvale. Besides woodworking and metalworking, Paul enjoyed going to the mountains, traveling and working in his garden. He was also a volunteer with the Red Lion Ambulance.
He is survived by his two daughters, Shirley Ann Dietz and Sue Ann Ritz; his granddaughter, Pamela Robertson and her husband Shawn of Michigan; his grandson, Joshua Paul Ritz; his two great granddaughters, Elise Bearie and Holly Schau, as well as a great-great grandson, Grayson Schau. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Galey Ewell.
A viewing will be held from 1:00 – 1:40 PM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A funeral procession will leave from the funeral home and go to Susquehanna Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 PM graveside with Rev. Donald Rowe officiating.
