Phyllis M. Becker, 89, of York, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. Born on September 2, 1936, in York, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Leona (Jacobs) Walker and the loving wife of the late Richard E. Becker, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 1998.

Phyllis dedicated much of her career to the banking industry, serving as an assistant manager and loan officer for many years before retiring. Known for her warm heart and kind spirit, she was affectionately nicknamed "Mom" throughout her neighborhood, where her door was always open and her caring nature touched countless lives.

A talented baker and avid knitter, Phyllis found joy in simple pleasures and in bringing happiness to others. She especially enjoyed volunteering for Relay for Life, where she poured her love into making hundreds of pounds of homemade candies each year to support the cause.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Becker; her daughter, Shari Becker and her husband James Dunlap III; her grandchildren, Tempest Becker, Danika Nevin, and Alyssa Dehoff; and her brother, Lee Walker. In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers Lester Walker and Robert Walker.

A graveside service to honor Phyllis's life will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 N George St, York, PA 17404 at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 8, 2025. Those who wish to attend should arrive at the cemetery entrance no later than 10:45 A.M. to await further instruction.
