Obituary

Phyllis Darene (Grim) Seitz, 86, of Lancaster, PA passed away peacefully on April 11th, 2024 at Maple Farm Nursing Center in Ephrata Township, PA after a long illness.  She was predeceased by her husband Terry Leon Seitz who was her soul mate, best friend, and life-long love.

Born in Dallastown, PA, Phyllis was the youngest of nine children born to Ralph and Bessie Grim.  Raised as a country girl on the Grim farm, Phyllis learned at a young age the value of hard work and the love of family.  Throughout her life from Dallastown to Allentown and finally to Lancaster, it was the love of her family (and her many cats) that brought her the greatest joy.  As a mother she dedicated her life to raising three children while always showing them and their children unconditional love and support.  She was never happier than when surrounded by family at various get togethers, holiday celebrations and many vacation trips across the years. Her warm demeanor, wonderful sense of humor, and a smile that could light up a room were adored by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Phyllis is survived by her three children, Doreen Baggs (husband James) of Lancaster, Bret (wife Libby) of Loveland, OH, and Bart (wife Tari) of Allentown as well as 9 grandchildren (Colin, Taylor, Cameron, Theresa, Christopher, Alicia, Michael, Zachary, Noah) and 5 great grandchildren (Bridgette, Whitaker, Richard, Liza, Wallace).  She is also survived by her two remaining sisters, Fae Roth and Flo Hoffman, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, Phyllis was predeceased by sisters Erma Tyson, Hilda Eyster, and Treva Blouse and brothers Glenwood, Quentin, and Hilliard.

A service to honor Phyllis's life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 18th, 2024 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 West Main Street, Dallastown, PA. There will be a viewing at the funeral home beginning at 9 AM until the start of the service.  The burial will then follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York Township, PA.

Phyllis was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church in her name.  The family would also like to thank the staff members of Maple Farm Nursing Center and Caring Hospice for the warm and loving care they gave to Phyllis during her final months.
