Ralph Edward Hess, 90, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2021, at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Phyllis R. Hess, who passed away May 2016. Together they celebrated almost 65 years of marriage.

Ralph was born in York on April 27, 1931 and was the son of the late Aaron Franklin Hess and late Alice Virginia (Sterner) Hess.

He worked for several years at Leader Farms, Coastal Tank Lines, and retired from York Mack. After retirement, he enjoyed mowing lawns. Ralph was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and was attending Christ United Methodist Church of Yorkana.

He and his wife enjoyed several years as "snow birds" camping in Florida during the cold Winter months. They also enjoyed traveling with their camper through most of the United States and Canada.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Shirley A. Hess of York, son, Ronald E. Hess and his wife Stephanie of York. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Aaron M. Hess and wife Lindsey of York, and Stephen A. Hess and wife Nicole of Wheeling, WV.; and five great­ grandchildren, Addisyn, Kenzie, Reid, Joshua and Hailey Hess

A funeral service to honor Ralph's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 22 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Jason Guillaume officiating. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial to follow in Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery.
