Randy A. Yohe entered into his eternal resting place in heaven on May 3, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family at his home after a lengthy illness. Randy was born to the late Paul and Mary (Gebhart) Yohe in Gettysburg, PA. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie D. (Reimold) Yohe. They would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in June of 2021.
Randy was a 1971 graduate of Spring Grove High School. Starting at age 14, he spent the next 53 years earning his Working Man's PhD. as a millwright, initially working for Paul W. Gilbert from whom he learned the valuable motto "Do the job like you are doing it for yourself". He later worked for Loucks Grain Equipment and Hershey Equipment before operating his own business, fostering genuine, lasting relationships with his customers. Randy specialized in aerial construction and repair of grain storage facilities. He was a master craftsman who made a living with a welding stick and an oxygen-acetylene torch. An ally to farmers from Maine to Puerto Rico, Randy ensured their equipment was in service and running in order for them to store crops and grains after harvest. Randy thrived on performing dangerous, hard work. His work ethic was earned through sweat equity and the belief and satisfaction of doing a job correctly the first time around. Deeply loved and sorely missed, Randy was a loyal friend who did his best to help his family and friends. He loved the Orioles, Ravens, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Randy loved to fly the American flag and was very proud of his family member's military service.
Randy is survived by three sons, Benjamin P. Yohe and wife of Shrewsbury, William S. Yohe of Seven Valleys, and Randy J. Yohe and wife of York; three loving grandchildren; one brother, Jerry A. Yohe, of York; three sisters, Cindy D. McCoury of Thomasville, Pamela E. Keller of Long Beach, California, and Wendy E. McKinney of Mardela Springs, MD; an aunt, Irene Shank of Gettysburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne B. Yohe; sister, Sarah "Jeanne" Welcomer; brother, Steven P. Yohe; and brother, Teddy L. Yohe.
Randy's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Johns Hopkins, Wellspan Health, and Hospice and Community Care for their devoted care and treatment in helping Randy during his illness. Specific thanks go to Dr. David Newburger, Dr. Daniel Judge, Dr. Jeff Rowand, Dr. Varian, Dr. Delano, Dr. Zubkus, Dr. Vohra, Dr. Johana Fajardo, and Nurse Practitioner Peggy Bixler. Special thanks to Kate and Allen Warner of Lineboro, MD for their generosities to Randy over these past years. Memorial contributions in Randy's memory may be made to Diakon Adoption Services- 836 S. A viewing for Randy will be held at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home- 104 W. Main St. Dallastown, PA 17313 on Friday, May 7, 2021, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the New Fairview Church of the Brethren- 1873 New Fairview Church Rd. York, PA 17403 on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 10:00 am. A viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in the Susquehanna Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Officiating the service Saturday, May 8th will be Keith Lippy with his wife Michelle and Lester Miller with his wife Cindy.
