Ray E. Folkenroth, age 96 of York Township, passed away peacefully at Rest Haven on Sunday, April 6, 2025. He was husband to his beloved wife Mary Ellen (Warfel) for 60 years until her passing in 2018.

Ray was born on September 19, 1928 in York to the late Daniel H. and Nettie E. (Doll) Folkenroth.

Ray was a longtime member of Salem Christian Church in Jacobus where he participated in adult Sunday school, choir, church softball team, served on the consistory, property and many roles over the years. Ray was also an avid bowler, participating in many leagues. He loved pitching horseshoes in a league and at family events. Ray worked at Continental Wire and Cable until his retirement in 1989. After retiring, he enjoyed many part time jobs including pickup and delivery at Innerst, in Jacobus and Brown's Orchards, in Loganville.

Ray is survived by his children Julie Folkenroth, Todd & Chris Folkenroth, Jim & Brenda Folkenroth; four grandchildren, Justin, Emma, Kate and Morgan Folkenroth and his two great grandchildren, Kylie and Mason. He is also survived by his siblings, Royce Folkenroth, Larry Folkenroth, and Darlene Sweitzer. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son Ray E. Folkenroth Jr., and his siblings Carl Folkenroth, Dale Folkenroth, Marlin Folkenroth, Howard Folkenroth and Janie Reinhart.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 11, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Salem Christian Church, 24 Franklin St., Jacobus, PA 17407 and then again at the church on Saturday, April 12, from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Kevin Becker will be officiating. Interment will follow the service at Salem Union Cemetery.
