Raymond E.
Loder
Nov 8, 1951 — Feb 26, 2022
Dallastown
Raymond E. Loder, 70, of Dallastown passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 26, 2022.
Born November 8, 1951 in Hanover, he was a son of the late George W. and Mabel C. (Albright) Loder.
Raymond was self-employed doing maintenance repair work since 1970 and was a man of many skills. He had also previously been a machine operator for Columbia Products for 13 years, served 10 years with Dallastown-Yoe Water Authority and on the Yoe Zoning Hearing Board, and was a past member of the Red Lion Jaycees.
He was a current member of the American Legion Post 605 in Dallastown and enjoyed being a part of their pool league.
An avid karaoke fan, he spent a better part of the last 25 years following the music and singing. He had an extensive music collection but remained a die-hard Elvis fan, not only for the music but also the likeness in his own appearance that had him affectionately nicknamed "Elvis" and "King." He looked forward to any event that allowed him to sport one of his many Elvis jumpsuit costumes.
In addition to playing pool and singing karaoke, he devoted time to researching his ancestry, collecting antiques and searching for four-leaf clovers to preserve and gift to family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Rinehart of Windsor, his son Daniel Loder of Dallastown, his stepdaughter Kris Melvin of York, his grandson Canin White and two step-grandsons, Tyler Loder and Cody Rodgers; eight brothers; Gary, John, Albert, David, Paul, William, Terry and George Loder; four sisters; Dorothy Beaverson, Margaret Mutzabaugh, Martha Haugh and Ethel Nalls; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; Robert, Glenn, Richard, Donald and James Loder; and two sisters, Mary Sweiger and Grace Blouse.
A funeral service to celebrate Raymond's life will be held on Thursday, March 3rd at 11am at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home; 104 W. Main St. in Dallastown with Pastor Howard Edmundson officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York where military honors will be rendered by the Dallastown American Legion Honor Guard. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will be on Wednesday, March 2nd at the funeral home from 5-7pm, and again on Thursday morning from 10am until the start of service.
