Obituary

Rhelda R. (Mummert) Fauth, 85 of Solomons, MD, formerly of York County, PA passed away peacefully at The Hermitage at Solomons on Thursday, September 22, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Glenn W. Fauth who passed away on February 13, 2015.

Born March 23, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Raymond A. and Bessie R. (Lutz) Mummert.

Rhelda was a faithful, lifelong Lutheran and a dedicated member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown.  She was Salutatorian of her graduating class of 1955 from Kreutz Creek Valley High School (the old Hellam High School) and was a member of the National Honor Society.  She then went on to Thompson Business College and enrolled in the stenographic program where she taught business machines, shorthand and typing to many, especially returning veterans, whom she helped to learn new skills and obtain their G.I. Bill benefits.  Following business school, she worked at Standard Register.  Rhelda also served as a certified literary instructor.  She and her husband, Glenn were also very proud and active members of the Conservation Society of York County.  Later in life, Mr. & Mrs. Fauth were co-managers of York Hills Apartments and Rhelda was also self-employed as a daycare provider.

Mrs. Fauth is survived by three children: Brian K. Fauth and his partner, Charles Lafferty of Philadelphia, Brice A. Fauth and his wife Michele of Dallastown and Heather D. Henderson and her husband, Robert of Lusby, MD; four grandchildren: Joshua Fauth and his wife, Courtney, Brooke Dennis and her husband, Michael, Michael Fauth and his wife, Tiffany and Jeb Henderson and his wife, Becky; five great-grandchildren: Cameron Fauth, Raegan Dennis, Madelyn Dennis, Ethan Fauth and Bode Fauth; one nephew, Bradley Mummert: one niece, Madelyn Mummert; two great-nephews, Tristan and Wesley Mummert and one sister-in-law, Patsy Mummert.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Mummert.

A funeral service to celebrate Rhelda's life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, October 1 st at Christ Lutheran Church: 126 W. Main St. in Dallastown with Pastor Patti Bream officiating.  Interment will be held privately by the family in Canadochly Cemetery in York.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Saturday at the church from 9:30am until the start of the service.
