Richard Herbst, 83, of Red Lion passed away peacefully at Inners Creek Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Born December 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Edward Herbst and Gertrude (Siedenstrickler) Herbst.

Richard worked for York International for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, bowling, walking and going to casinos.

He is survived by his two sons, Richard Herbst Jr, and Troy Herbst; two grandsons, Austin and Brandon Herbst: one brother Edward Herbst; two sisters Sue Bankert and Stacy Hunter; one brother - in - law, Earl Hilt and one sister – in – law, Judy Herbst.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Donald Herbst Sr. and Ricky Herbst; two sisters, Carol Hilt and June Miller.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 26 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 10384 Winterstown Rd, Red Lion, PA 17356, with Pastor Woodrow Harrison, Pastor of Care from Pleasant View Church officiating.

The family asks that memorial contributions in Richard's name be made to your favorite charity.
