Richard A. Gellinger, Jr., 62, of Red Lion, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital on Thursday, March 19, 2026, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Angela J. (Craley) Gellinger.

Born April 15, 1963, in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, he was the son of Lillian F. (Evans) Gemmill and her husband Anthony and the late Richard A. Gellinger.

Richard was currently employed as a CO for the York County Prison. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors with his neighbors, and vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Maggie Gellinger; sister, Teresa Fischer; his brother, Charles Gellinger; his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Jackie Silar; and his sisters-in-law, Penny Wambaugh, Karen Korte, and Sharon Groff.

He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Bill Gellinger; his brother-in-law, Kevin Craley; his stepmother-in-law, Dorothy Craley; and his beloved dog, Belle.

Per the family's wishes, there will be no services.

The family would like to thank all those who offered support and prayers during Rick's illness.
