Richard Leroy Morrison, 82, of Dallastown, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Barabara A. (Bolden) Morrison. They were married for 62 years until her passing in 2022.
Born June 11, 1941, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Parry) Morrison. He worked most of his life at Covenco. He retired at age 79 from WellSpan after 16 years of employment.
Richard was known as a social butterfly. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid Penn State football fan. He enjoyed going to the casino and one of his favorite past times was to sit out in his yard and hand feed peanuts to the squirrels.
He is survived by his 4 children: Stephen A. Morrison and his wife, Kris of Dallastown, Richard L. Morrison II and his wife, Cindy of Dallastown, Bobby A. Morrison and his wife, Tammy of Dallastown and Christine C. Pinkerton and her husband, Tom of Murrells Inlet, SC, as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Bandit. He is survived by two sisters, Shirley Flickinger and Janet Moore and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Ann Dudley.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at Austin H Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St. in Dallastown, on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Visitation with family will be at 10:00 AM and a memorial service will follow at 11:00AM officiated by Pastor Tanya Brubaker. There will also be a reception following the service at Dallastown Fire Hall.
A Special thank you to the following: Victoria Frey for the caregiving she provided over the last several months, Shelley Kailer, his compassionate neighbor for always being there when needed over the years, and his WellSpan GI family for always caring and keeping in touch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Judes in honor of Richard.
