Richard W. Snyder, 92, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, July 26. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Leathery) Snyder.

Mr. Snyder was born in Dallastown on June 22, 1926 and was the son of the late Esta (Hengst) Keller and stepson of Spurgeon Keller.  He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Alpheus and Nora Hengst.

One of Richard's first jobs was working for the Yoe Orchard Company, where his starting wage was .25 cents an hour. He eventually became a truck driver and retired from Edgcomb Steel after many years of service. He was an active and long- standing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Garry L. Snyder; three stepsons, Donald Grove, Dalen Grove and Daryl Grove and their wives. He is also survived by a brother, Gerald Keller; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Keller, Louise Gruver and Shirley Moul.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 30 from 6 – 8 PM at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, and then again from 10-11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2100 Hollywood Dr., York, PA 17403, with a service beginning at 11AM. Bishop Michael D. Wagner will be officiating. Burial will follow in Dallastown Union Cemetery.
