Richard W. (Dick) Keller, Sr., of Red Lion, entered into rest at the Dallastown Nursing Center on February 26th, 2025.  Dick was 97 years of age.  He was the husband of the late Phyllis E. (Dellinger) Keller, to whom he was married for 68 years.

Dick was born in Red Lion on December 22, 1927, the son of John W. and Mabel E. (Bennington) Keller.  He was a graduate of Red Lion High School class of 1945 and a lifelong member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

After graduation, Dick enrolled in the US Maritime school, Sheepshead Bay, NY, learning the duties of a sailor.  Following this, he began employment with ESSO, sailing the seas on an oil tanker.  In 1946 Dick enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ.  He was a Life Member of the Dallastown American Legion, Post #605.

Dick Keller retired as Superintendent for Redco Corporation of Red Lion. He previously worked as purchasing agent, President and Director of the former Red Lion Table Company.  He was active in various fire organizations including: Fire Chief of Leo Independent Fire Company, Secretary of the Fire Chiefs & Fire Fighters Association of York County, President of the Firemen's Association of York County, and Director of the Firemen's Legislative Federation of Pennsylvania.  Dick was also a Director of Kaltreider Library, served on the Red Lion Boro Planning Commission, and was a member of the Red Lion Lodge 649 F&AM and the Dallastown Golden Agers Club.

Dick will be remembered for his sense of family, his managerial skills, his community service and his ability to repair or adapt almost anything - prior to the digital age!

He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis E. (Dellinger) Keller.  Dick leaves two sons, Dr. Richard W, Keller, Jr. (Abigail), of Voorheesville, NY, Dr. Bradley T. Keller (Annette) of Chesterfield, MO; and two daughters, both of Red Lion; Beverley Sue Kochenour (Kevin) and Lori I. Overmiller (Brian).  He also leaves nine grandchildren: Wesley J. Keller, Benjamin V. Keller, Zachary D. Keller, Stephen B. Keller, Andrew P. Keller, Liza I. Sangrey, Dustin C. Overmiller, Brock M. Overmiller, and Dena E. Hildebrand; two step grandchildren: Justin R. Kochenour and Tiffany J. Kochenour; and 12 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 6th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Dallastown, with Pastor Larry Parlett and Bryant Holtzapple (great grandson) officiating.  A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 AM until the start of the service.   Burial will follow at the Red Lion Cemetery.
