Rick L. Krout, 64 passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 4.  He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Sharon L. (Brown) Krout.

Mr. Krout was born in Glen Rock on August 26, 1953 and was the son of Maurice Krout and the late Mary (Graham) Krout.

Rick was a long time truck driver and most recently drove for Metals USA. He was a proud charter member of the Red Lion American Legion Riders Post 543 and was also a member of the Red Lion VFW post 1446. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors and was a member of several sportsman clubs, including the Craley Fish and Game, where he was a past officer, Yorkana Rod and Gun Club and the Saxton Sportsman Club.  Rick enjoyed travelling with his wife and riding motorcycles. He took pleasure in participating in rides that help raise funds for disabled and returning veterans and their families. Above all things in life, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his three children, Rickey Krout, II and his wife Shannon of Virginia, Jesse Greenwood and his wife Jamie of Felton and Angela Krout-Sellers of Red Lion. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Chance, Garrett, Wyatt, Bayla, Jordan, Eliott and Lucas; brothers, Dale and Jeffrey Krout; sister, Judy Krout; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Krout.

A funeral service to honor Rick's life will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 9 at The Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Monday and will begin at 11:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cancer Care Associates of York Patient Fund, 25 Monument Rd., Suite 294, York, PA 17403 to assist local families whose loved ones are battling cancer.
