Robert Christian Kohler, formerly of Dallastown, passed away on December 30, 2021, in Lake City, Florida, after an extended illness.

Robert was born on January 18, 1956, to the late Fern (Saylor) Kohler and Jesse Kohler.

He graduated from Dallastown Area High School in 1974 and attended West Chester University.

As a child, Robert was carefree, inquisitive, and filled with imagination. History was always a passion for him. In later years, although he struggled with mental illness, he traveled throughout the country, eventually settling in Florida. There, he would let his mind sail back to his happy childhood in Dallastown. Those memories sustained him, calming the chaos that at times overtook his thoughts. He often reminisced about the long hikes he took with family and good friends, the fort he built with his cousins, the dogs he loved, his mother's amazing home cooking, his love of books that was nurtured by his dad, and his admiration for his older brother, Don, who predeceased him.

Robert is survived by many cousins, including Linda Landis-Clark, Michael Budesheim, and Jane Duffy, who supported Robert throughout his struggles; a nephew, James Kohler; and nieces, Elizabeth Fay and Jessie Kohler Wenninger.

Following cremation a graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18 ^th at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Elizabeth Polanzke officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery entrance at 12:45 PM.

The family thanks Meridian Behavioral Health, Lake City Medical Center, Haven Hospice, ICS Cremation Services in Florida, Robert's Florida friends who cared for his beloved puppy, his dear friend Mark Will, and all that supported him in his life-long journey.
