Robert E. Schields, 86 of York passed away peacefully at Country Meadows of York – West on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.  He was the beloved husband of 53 years to the late Ruth E. (Lucabaugh) Schields who passed away November 18, 2014.

Born February 4, 1936 in Dallastown, he was a son of the late Levere and Meda (Markey) Schields.

Mr. Schields is fondly remembered as a loving and devoted family man.  He was a long-time member of 1 ^st Church of the Brethren in York.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and bowling.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Deborah A. Sheridan and her husband, Mark of Spring Grove; two grandsons: Andrew Sheridan and his wife, Stephanie of Red Lion and Kyle Sheridan and his wife, Sarah of York; two great-grandchildren: Christian Sheridan and Aubrey Sheridan of Red Lion; three siblings: Arthur Schields and his wife, Geraldine, Dolores Daugherty and Arlene Eberly, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Schields and Gerald Schields.

A funeral service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at 11am in Tuesday, December 6 ^th at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc.; 104 W. Main St. in Dallastown with Pastor Bob Tome and Pastor Phil Schorner officiating. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10am until the start of the service.
