Romaine E. (Keener) Schaefer, 99 of Jacobus passed away April 28, 2018 at Pleasant Acres. She was the beloved wife of the late Roy M. Schaefer, who passed January 22, 2013.

Born March 23, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Dora (Dise) Keener.

Romaine retired from Danskin in 1981 after 15 years of dedicated service, and was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by 2 siblings: Preston Keener of Red Lion and Lola Jacobs of York; 2 grandchildren: Jan Schaefer and his wife, Deb of Winterstown and Kira Kazinski and her husband, John of York; 6 great-grandchildren: Bradley and Melissa Schaefer, Katherine and Kimberly Kazinski, Nicole Farnsworth and Brian Lukenich, as well as 5 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Romaine was preceded in death by her son, Lennis Schaefer; 3 brothers: Merle Keener, Millard Keener and Carl Keener, as well as her sister, Lorie Barshinger.

A graveside service to celebrate Romaine's life will be held on Thursday, May 3 ^rd at 2:00 pm at Salem Union Cemetery; 99 York Rd; Jacobus, PA. with Pastor Tina Minnich officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home in Dallastown.
