Ronald M. Golden, 84, of Red Lion, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Nancy N. (Coeyman) Golden. The couple were married for over 62 years.
Mr. Golden was born in Hanover on August 16, 1938 and was the son of the late Paul S. and Beulah E. (Miller) Golden.
Ronald was a 1957 graduate of Red Lion High School and attended Penn State York from 1957-1959, majoring in Drafting and Design Technology. He then went to work as a draftsman for Bendix Corp until 1962. From 1962 – 1965 he worked for Aircraft Armements, Inc. as a layout draftsman, and then worked for Flinchbaugh Products, Inc. until 1973. Following working for Flinchbaugh Products, Inc., he worked as a senior level product designer for Precision Components Corp., retiring in 1992.
Ronald was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church in Red Lion, where he served on the church council. He helped settle the Dam family following the Vietnam War and was also a Boy Scout leader in Winterstown.
Ronald was an avid Penn State fan and loved to trout fish. He enjoyed cleaning his pool, mowing and was known as an all around "fix it man", using duct tape whenever he could. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, who was always ready with a corny joke.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Kevin Golden and his wife Susan, Karen Traina and her husband Tom, and Kurt Golden and his wife Tammy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Zachary Golden, Jamie Bresch, Chase Traina, and Adam Golden; great grandchildren, Tommy and Bella Bresch, as well as a brother, Gerard "Jere" Golden and his wife Wanda.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul Golden, Jr., Jeune Miller, Doris Workinger, Jay Golden, Phil Golden and Larry Golden.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Debbie Mahady officiating. Interment to follow in Red Lion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church at the address listed above.
