Ronald William Sipe (Ron)

Entered this world in Decatur Township on April 8, 1935, and peacefully departed at Rest Haven in York, Pennsylvania, on September 30, 2023. Ron was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Ron, the son of William and Helen Sipe of Decatur Township, shared an incredible 68-year journey of love and companionship with his devoted wife, Nancy Lou (Goss) Sipe.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his siblings: Darrell (Susan) Sipe, Ruth (Jack) McLeod, and John (Joann) Sipe.

Ron's legacy lives on through his dedicated daughter, Ronda (Sipe) Whitson, and her husband, Tom Whitson, as well as his son, Curt Sipe, and his wife Anne Badamo-Connors.

Ron was a source of pride as a grandfather to eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, including Tate (Kelly)Whitson, Tim Whitson & his fiancé Cathy Richards, Cole Sipe, Coda Connors, Jackie Connors, Kevin Connors, and Kyle Connors. His legacy also includes great-grandchildren Anna Whitson and Sarah Whitson.

Ron's early life was marked by his strong work ethic and dedication to education. He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1953 and completed a Tool and Die Apprenticeship at Borg Werner. His career culminated with his retirement from GTE Sylvania in 1992, leaving a legacy of excellence.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ron was an accomplished woodworker, crafting pieces that held a special place in the hearts of those he gifted them to. Ron was also an avid sports enthusiast, excelling in baseball (Lewistown High School), hockey (Junior Bears), racquetball (Winfield Club), and golf (Industrial & Penguin Leagues). He was a member of the Lake Pahagaco fishing and hunting community.

Ron was not only defined by his achievements but also by his remarkable character. He was a kind and supportive husband and father, sharing boundless energy and a positive spirit with his family and friends. Despite his battle with Parkinson's for over 30 years, Ron's zest for life inspired all who knew him.

A devoted member of the Spry Church, his faith played an essential role in his life.

A viewing for Ronald will be held on Saturday, October 7th from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Spry Church (School St. Campus), 50 School St., York, PA 17402, with a funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Ken Loyer officiating. Interment to follow in Salem Union Cemetery.
