Rozella Mae (Markey) Deitz, 98, departed this life on March 5, 2025. Rozella, a daughter of Melvin D. Markey Sr. and Marie (Raffensberger) Markey, was born on October 28, 1926. She was married to Elmer D. Deitz, Jr, for 42 years until his passing in 1987. She was also predeceased by her youngest son Lee in 2020 and her second son Elmer ("Sonny") in 2022.

Rozella is survived by her sons David and companion Debra Bush, and Jay. She also survived by a brother, Clair Markey and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rozella was a homemaker and tended Farmers Market. As a young girl, she stood on a box to wait on customers.

Rozella loved to travel with Elmer and visited all the lower 48 states. She also traveled to Hawaii, Russia, Israel, and Italy and liked to visit the family cabin in Potter County.  Rozella attended New Fairview Church from birth and was especially supportive of missions.

A memorial service will be held March 11 at the New Fairview Church. Friends are invited to greet the family from noon until the start of the service at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to New Fairview Mission Fund, 1873 New Fairview Church Road, York PA 17402.
