Ruth A. (Warner) Chronister, 84, of York Township, passed away at WellSpan York Hospital, on Sunday, December 12. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to Donald E. Chronister.

Mrs. Chronister was born in North York on February 25, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Russell and Anna (Toomey) Warner.

Ruth was a member of New Fairview Church of the Brethren for over 63 years. She loved traveling and exploring with her husband in their camper, visiting 49 of 50 states, including four trips to Alaska, as well as going to several of the Canadian provinces. Ruth enjoyed spending time at their cabin, and loved spending time on the water by boating and fishing on the river, Raystown Lake and in Florida. Above everything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Michael E.  Chronister and his wife Denise, of Red Lion and James D. Chronister and his wife Donna, of Dallastown. She is also survived by five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, with three more expecting.

A funeral service to honor Ruth's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 17, at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Rd, York, PA 17403, with Pastor Paul Bentzel officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the church on Friday, and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in New Fairview Cemetery.
